I got this for my grandkids but after reading it, I actually tore it up and threw it into the recycle. It’s that bad.
The “hero” is a brat who treats everyone and everything as secondary to whatever he personally wants at any given moment and he learns nothing to the contrary from his escapades.
The mythology is a mess. Fairies … traditionally associated with forests and streams … have chosen to live in underground tunnels like moles. Huh?
They not only have magic, but also no discernible civilization or genius, yet have somehow developed technology way beyond ours. Puh-leeze.
They not only have magic and superior technology, but also are just as petty, power hungry and generally unpleasant as humans, yet they HIDE rather than try to dominate at least SOME of the upper world? Riiight.
Centaurs … HUGE, noble star-gazers, right? Here, Foaly is living in tunnels with 3 foot tall fairies, to whom he is the subservient techno-nerd. Suuuuure.
And did I mention the hero is a rich, spoiled, morally challenged bully who wins in the end? YUCK!

Shipping was more than the cables. HDMI is HDMI. Image and sound quality is excellent. I got these for my new 50″ LG Plasma. I got a few extra because of the price. $.07 each. You are losing money if you don’t buy them.
Grow a Lawn Ornament
I really love the Furminators. I have a foster Chow/Shep mix and a Smooth Coat Sheltie/ Collie mix. This tool does an amazing job of removing all of their dead undercoat. Both dogs have ended up with very shiny sleek coats. Everyone is commenting on how great the Chow mix looks after only a month and no water baths due to his extreme fear of them. I would highly recommend this product!

I received a refurbished unit with instructions to plug it to charge it up but there was no power plug on the end of the cord. It took 5 calls or emails to straighten this out, amounting to over a week with the Kindle but no way to use it. That seems a bit much. The service techs were polite and wanted to help but it seemed to take time to find the right person and to straighten out the problem. Once I had the Kindle working, I enjoyed it. This product is evolving. Let’s see how well it does in competition with Nook (better IMO) and IPad (Kindle will have to work some to maintain market share with the IPad around.)
I purchased a skin and a cover which are essential for protecting the Kindle.

I REALLY wanted to like this scale, as I got it to replace my older one that was difficult to read. I thought I’d be getting the most amazing, accurate scale ever because of all of the positive reviews, but I was wrong.
The first issue is that whenever I weigh myself it returns to 4.6 lbs. rather than 0. I also got other family members to step on and it also happened with them, too. I have no idea why it’s doing this, but it’s obvious that it isn’t working well.
The biggest issue is that this scale just isn’t very accurate. I weighed myself once to see what reading it would give me, then I would weight myself a second time while holding something with a known weight (2 lbs.), but the scale would say that I gained 5+ lbs. Not exactly very accurate.
The scale also gave me a bunch of different readings within a 15 minute time span.
Like I wrote earlier in the review, I wanted to have an awesome experience with this scale since it looks so nice and the display is easy to read, but the fact that it can’t do what it’s supposed to do makes this a bad buy.
Pawdoodles Krinklers Dog Toy
When I was 8 years old, I was already a huge fan of Nancy Drew and any kind of mystery story I could get my hands on. I was also a huge Garfield fan…and then came the cartoon I watched repeatedly on VHS, “Garfield’s Babes & Bullets.” My parents taped it for me on a whim, and then were repeatedly subjected to my viewing of it over and over again. I thought it was the best cartoon in the world…so you can imagine my trauma and tears when they taped over it a couple of years later. I have been waiting my whole life for this cartoon on DVD, so now that my life is complete, I recommend any die-hard Garfield fans to check out this great murder-mystery done in classic film noir style. There are two other cartoons on this DVD, including the sometimes amusing, sometimes wacky “Garfield: His 9 Lives” and the passable/forgettable “Garfield’s Feline Fantasies”…but who cares when “Babes and Bullets” showcases some of the best wit and entertainment Garfield has to offer? It’s worth it for the one cartoon alone, says this (still-young at heart) die-hard fan.

In the beginning of Water For Elephants Jacob Jankowski tells us that he is 90 or 93 (who can really be certain anymore?) His body betrayed him years ago and Jacob now fears that his mind isn’t far behind. Shuffling along miserably behind his walker, he’s living out his final days in the nursing home and hating every minute of it. Just another invisible senior citizen who’s family and the world as a whole has forgotten about.
When the circus comes to town and sets up its Big Top tents across the street Jacob comes alive and through a series of flashbacks begins to tell us his life’s story. Taking us back to when he joined the Benzini Brothers Most Spectacular Show On Earth, a traveling circus he toured with during the great depression.
At the age of 23 Jacob had a predictable future set out ahead of him, one that certainly didn’t involve joining the circus. However with his parents untimely death and the bank foreclosing on his family home Jacob soon finds himself homeless, heartbroken and mentally quite unable to sit his final veterinary exams. When an exotic, animal filled train steams toward him Jacob doesn’t even think. Flinging himself aboard the boxcar and inadvertently changing his destiny forever.
I absolutely adored this book, alternately falling in love with both Jacob, the crotchety old man and Jacob, the young, moral and penniless circus veterinarian. Water For Elephants transported me to another time and quickly became one of those books I never wanted to end.
Author Sara Gruen has researched the depression era circus life down to the smallest of details and I feel that this captivating and vivid story will appeal to almost anyone.Filled with action, adventure and a sweet forbidden romance there is also a fascinating sideshow of secondary characters including a clever Polish Elephant, a grouchy little person as Jacob’s roommate and a cruel and schizophrenic animal trainer whose wife Jacob just happens to fall in love with. I’ve used this machine to clean 2 carpets so far. It’s my first Carpet Cleaner of this kind, so I don’t really have anything to compare it to. I purchsed this model based on the reviews here, and I am not disappointed. The only things I have to add:
1. I became concerned after purchasing the item when I realized that the majority of the reviews I was reading were 8+ years old. I feared that the quality/performance of the product may not be current. Not to worry–it works great.
2. The foors were a little more wet than I had expected. I used the item properly and also did a ‘dry run’ after the clean to suck up any extra water. That being said, my carpets dried very quickly (within 2-3 hours), so my perception was probably just due to inexperience. Also, someone here recommended to clean your floors barefoot so you’re aware of any extra wetness that may have gotten overlooked–I did this and found it to be helpful.
3. There is a bit of assembly necessary. It’s easy enough, but for some reason I wasn’t aware of this.
4. The manual was great–easy to follow. I appreciated Hoover’s many displays of phone numbers/website to use for assistance, if necessary. It made me feel that, if I had any issues, they would be easily resolved.
4. It’s a bit heavy. If you have an occupation where you need your hands to be in decent condition, you may want to wear work gloves. I did 2 decent sized rooms in one day and my hands were a bit raw after. This was just a nuisance for me at work the next day, and I will wear gloves next time.
I have no reservations about recommending this product.
