Once I started it, I couldn’t stop.
My favorite type of book contains plenty of action, mystery and sometimes humor, and this book is exactly that. Not only did I like it, I loved it. I longed to get more information from the book. This book is very intriguing and is interesting. I am looking forward to reading the next in the series.
Water for Elephants is an engrossing story about life in an early 1930’s, depression-era traveling circus, but is also about so much more. Jacob Jankowski is presently ninety or ninety-three (he doesn’t recall) and living out the end of his life in a nursing home. He has family who visit, but they are busy enough with their own lives that he is largely forgotten. A circus comes to town and Jacob thinks back on his own youthful experiences.
I appreciate the story’s realistic portrayal of early 20th century circus life. The animals live and work in conditions that are horrific, but at the same time they are the lifeblood of the show next to the human performers and are therefore treated well enough to that extent. The author, Sara Gruen, mentions in an interview that many of the anecdotes in the tale are plucked from real life accounts. (For example, an elephant stealing lemonade from the lemonade stand when no one is looking.) Truth is stranger than fiction, indeed.

Neale is on target! Finally! Everything I ever felt about GOD has been revealed In this “new” way! All my life I’ve been told I was going to HELL because I just couldn’t be good enough. I was just “too human” I guess. Why would a “LOVING GOD” make me the way I am, and then condemn me for being that way??? Yes ,I know we have free will and choice, but WHY was I choosing ,or being the ways that were so supposedly wrong?? I couldn’t help it. Sometimes I felt or acted a way that wasn’t “appropriate” According to “OUR WESTERN BIBLE”. This caused me to research other, more ancient religions. The TRUTHS began to seep out according to my soul. Now I live and act according to MY OWN TRUTHS as I FEEL them being revealed by GOD. Why can’t GOD speak to any of us as HE did in times of old? Did He not tell us that He is no respecter of persons?? People, HE is there. You have but to listen. Listen to the still, quiet voice that resides within your soul. He has no so called “chosen” people. WE are THE CHOSEN PEOPLE!! I have never been happier or more at PEACE, and if you think that is “Demonic” then you need to re-evaluate what your God is to you. GOD IS LOVE. LOVE FEELS GOOD. Love feels Giving. Love feels Compassionate. Love feels Forgiving. Love feels FREE, Love feels that all is right with the world, even in it’s current condition and WE can make it better if we so choose. As a group or an individual. I now choose to live my life according to the God I feel within me. Folks, He really is as close as Neale speaks. PLEASE, just LISTEN. Say what you want, but you can not deny THE TRUTH THAT YOU FEEL IN YOUR OWN HEART AND SOUL. BLESSED BE.

I love this vacuum. It is lightweight and very easy to use. It does a great job on the animal hair. So glad I decided to get this one. The only thing I would change about it is a longer accessory hose.

After a power outage, I decided to place UPS’s on both of my HDTV Systems. In my main room, I purchased the APC BX1500G unit(1500VA Battery Backup with LCD), which also has a LCD screen. It is rather large, but the screen is fantastic, showing wattage consumed on the battery outlet plugs, and minutes of backup.
For the other TV, I didn’t need one nearly as large (not as much equipment), and I wanted one that was more compact that would fit in the shelving. This one (TrippLite Omni900LCD) fit those needs perfectly. It is an attractive unit, and unlike the APC, the unit can be placed horizontal as well as vertical, and the screen can be repositioned so it is logical for the positioning. All Great. Also the size for a 900VA unit is even smaller than I had hoped, it fit very well in the cabinet. The heat generated is negligible, and that is in the back of a wood cabinet, it is airy, but still somewhat confined.
However, the one drawback is the LCD screen. The info on the screen is too simple! It will read overload, replace battery, on battery, and input voltage – but that’s it. After the APC I was wanting another unit to tell me the output wattage and percent of capacity, so I could know how close to the threshold I was getting (always a mystery on older UPSs)- Tripplite went part of the way, but they didn’t get all the way there. I know from having similar (but less) equipment on the other system that I could plug just about everything in (DVR, 47″ LED TV, Wii, Blu-Ray), but if you don’t have some way to measure your wattage, you won’t know how close you are really getting. Also, unlike the APC, you get no reading of how long your load could go on battery. (NOTE: Whatever it reads for possible battery life, if you are actually running your TV or your Computer CPU, you won’t have that much time 10-15 minutes is good for any UPS in that case). The product worked I liked the ease of the downloading. Only did know that the clip art was not preloaded in product. Generally, there should have been pre clip art, this process was slow and painful, all in all the disc itself was great.

I had thought about buying it over a year ago, but hesitated because my garmin’s suction cup was working adequately. Mine finally lost its suction and I quickly bought the mount for a trip. It worked so much better, could easily be moved around, and while parking in the hot sun of Arizona, I’d remove it from the dash and store it on the shady passenger side floor. We love the mobility of the mount and the ease of adjusting the angle without worrying that the unit will fall off the window.
Bower Digital Macro Filter
I had some problems installing this, had to be done twice. I wish it would integrate or replace my Microsoft Office 2003 but instead I seem to have both on my computer so when I open an old document, it’s opened with ‘03 and sometimes I accidentally open the old Word. I wish I just had ONE Word so things didn’t get confused like this. Could be doing something wrong, but it should be easier than this, it’s not like I never use computers, I’ve been using Microsoft and Word for at least 15 years.
Other than that, I didn’t like the tool bar change from 2003 to 2007 that took a lot of getting used to and still have to spend some effort finding somethings. With use, as with everything, it gets easier. And all in all it is fine, it’s not like I would go back to only using 2003.
