I have had only good experiences with the “Garmin Portable Friction Mount”. I’ve used it in my 2008 Subaru Legacy mainly, and my Garmin GPS unit has never slid off the dashboard no matter how crazy I may drive. I would definately buy this for my wife if she needed or wanted it.
What I love about this product:
- I’m able to quickly and easily move my Garmin GPS unit off of the dashboard and out of sight (into a bag on the floor). So that I feel more secure that burglars won’t see my GPS unit being displayed in clear view and compared to the suction cup mounts, no residue left on the window or having the GPS unit fall off the window after a period of time. And when I get back into the car, I can place the GPS unit very quickly back into place on my dashboard and use it again.
- I haven’t had any problems where my GPS unit would slide off the dashboard. The material is good and does exactly what it’s designed to do.
Conclusion:
- I would definitely buy another one for another car if the need ever arises.
Arlen Roth Hot Country
Very easy to use, no matter how many of the features you choose to use. Makes keeping track of runs painless and knowing how well I’m doing gives me a lot of motivation to keep going. The included training software is very helpful for mapping and keeping track of workouts.
Dog Costume Hot Diggity
This is a very nice looking scale and very easy to use. I like how it automatically turns on when you step in. The numbers are big ad easy to read.
I wish it also calculated your BMI, but it is not a deal-breaker
2010 Swedish Beauty Hot
Have had this scale about a month and so far I really like it. It seems to weigh about .2 light (when I weighed two 25 lb dumbells, but how do I know they weigh exactly 25 lbs?), but what I really like is that no matter how many times I get on and off, it gives me the same answer, where my two-year old Tanita would vary as much as 3 lbs and I never knew what to believe. Consistency is important to me.

This leads Artemis into trouble with the magical world when he takes Holly hostage. From there Artemis must match wits with LEP’s best agents and one of the magical community’s sneakiest criminals.
The book allows students to question their own cultural norms, as humans are called Mud People and their (our) practices are called into question.
The story includes subtle environmental messages. It also blurs the lines between genres, as it includes both sci-fi and fantasy elements. But most of all, this is a fun series for the young action-adventure lover to become addicted to.
Plus, Artemis is a Mac user, the clever boy.
Activities to do with the book:
This is a book is a great adventure story to help to get students immersed in a story. It lends itself to role-play since students can have fun being a villainous and powerful child genius.
Since some complain that the Artemis Fowl books are hard to visualize, students could create their own illustrations to help with this or create their own adventures for some of the supporting characters.

I read this during banned book week. I had not read it before, but it’s a classic. And hey, I wanted to see what could be so bad in it to ban it.
Hoo boy! Did I ever figure out. This book was obviously banned for being the single most boring book ever written. Or perhaps the incidence of boredom induced coma was so high, they felt the need to ban it. I don’t know. But I never did see anything horrible or even questionable in this book – nevermind interesting.
I’m sure people will comment about what a great piece of work this is. To them, I say “meh”
Coiled Power Hot Sync
Bought this SD card when I bought my Canon DSLR. Worked well and the write speeds were really good. I was able to continously shoot 3 RAW+JPEG(~13Mb) frames in a second. But, the big day comes and I am preparing to shoot an event. Formatted the SD card, kept it all ready. Took may be 10 pictures at this event and I get a card error. Tried to format again and it failed. Luckily I had a smaller 2GB Kingston with me and ended up just shooting JPEGs.
Tried formatting the SD card at home on the desktop and still no luck. Looks like its corrupt.

This book was so well written, it just pulled me in. It was insightful, honest, whitty and sad all at once. A must read!
