It is a great router. Thin and light compared to my old Linksys G Router.
As far a Cisco/Linksys; wouldn’t go anywhere else, reliable, nice, last forever.
My previous Linksys G lasted 7 years (still works), even did pretty good with gaming.
Now for the E1000, it is a good starter. It was easy to setup, however still don’t know how to turn off the “guest feature”, it has an open wireless connection to my internet Although they can’t access my LAN, they still can use my bandwidth.
So easy-of-us is okay as far as advanced settings.
Once you get it hooked up and run the CD, you don’t have to touch anything except the reset button every once and awhile (maybe).
As far as gaming, it is pretty good. I would recommend you hard wire a gaming console though, or upgrade to the E3000.
As I said it is a great starter router, or for families with laptop or wireless devices. But for heavy usage like constant downloading and gaming, get the E3000.
If you download a fair amount of stuff and want to go the extra step for a little bit more money, I highly recommend the E2000. I personally would of got the E2000, but I’m going to college and for what my parents do this is perfect for a great price.
But would never recommend anything outside of Cisco/Linksys. You will never be dissatisfied with their products.
Some go for looks and functionality, I go with reliability and performance. Like I said their reliable so you probably will never have to access the control panel.
I’ll give this router a easy 7-8 year life span.

I have a 6month old lab/retriever mix and he was horrible at being brushed and his shedding was getting out of hand. Most stores run this item at over $50.00 so gave it a try at this great price of under $15.00. He loves laying down for me to run this comb over him and the amount of hair after each use is amazing! Great product and would highly recommend it!!!

Since my airport card was broken on my early 2008 macbook pro, I went over many forums and read that WUSB600N from Linksys works flawlessly on Macs.
For the drivers (or kexts in mac lingo), head over to ralink dot com and download the 2870 drivers in the Mac section. Install the appropriate drivers for your system, mine was 10.5. It works instantly after restart and your mac will immediately detect the wireless linksys adapter.

This router is super easy to setup and inexpensive. However, I have been experiencing infrequent instability to my Internet connection during parts of the day. However, it is an excellent choice for those who are just planning to use it to surf the web around the house.

I own a Kindle 6″ display since 2 monthes now, here is my little review:
It took only minutes to understand how it works: it is EASY
The paper look helps to consider it as A BOOK NOT A COMPUTER
The battery is never empty, I fill it only once a week. (remember to switch off the wireless)
All my friends are amazed by the “paper look” of my Kindle.
Now I like to have my kindle handy to continue my favorite reading.
I use the Kindle opportunity to reopen a bunch of old French books… they fill all in it!
Some improvements needed for the next version:
- a light that can be switched on sometimes
- The screen should be 2 centimers wider to have the same surface as a pocket book.
If you are elder than 50 years you will understand.
- …because the PDF files cannot be zoomed in. Turn the page 90° helps but…
- I would love to have a small clock near the page number. When I am reading I forget easily everything!
- French Wikipedia support? SD card?

Quick and easy to set up. I did not use the web service part of the software as I set it up on my LAN as a security camera. Web service allows remote viewing and email notification. Video quality is very good. Not very good in low light and night time use. Indoor and daytime it’s great.
